The National Power Corporation of India, NTPC, announced that by 2030, one-quarter of its electricity generation will be based on renewable energy. By 2032, total power generation will increase from the current 62 gigawatts (GW) to 130 GW.

 

"According to the global clean energy trend, renewable energy is a cleaner energy source. NTPC plans to achieve 32,000 megawatts (MW) of power generation through 25% of renewable energy or its total power mix at the beginning of the next decade."

 

Currently, the company is implementing 2404 MW of renewable energy projects, of which 237 MW comes from floating solar projects located in the existing NTPC reservoir. The company said: "The gradual shift to renewable energy is one of NTPC's commitment to sustainable power generation and environmental protection."
