AC Charger & DC Charger Parts

Pulished on May. 24, 2021

The "United Nations Conference on New Energy and Renewable Energy" held by the United Nations in 1980 emphasized the importance of new energy. This has led to the rapid development of new energy vehicles and has become the main force of new energy. The basic infrastructure of new energy electric vehicles is the chargers that can be seen everywhere now. We often say one thing: a powerful individual that can function normally is inseparable from many components with various performances. For new energy vehicle chargers, these components include: new energy relays, power modules, communication modules, leakage current sensors, current transformers, etc. Based on the principle of being responsible for the environment and optimizing the use of energy, these new energy related components can be found on our website: www.ivy-metering.com, www.ivy-electronic.com

We have also mentioned in previous articles that there is a difference between fast charging and slow charging in chargers: generally fast charging is high-power DC charging, which is the charging interface of DC chargers, which converts the AC power of the grid into DC power and transmits it to the electric The fast charging port of the charger of the car, the electric energy directly enters the battery to charge. 80% of the battery capacity can be fully charged in half an hour at the fastest. Some components are specially used for fast charging, such as DCDC power modules. So what is a power module? Power modules are modules that provide product energy conversion. Most power modules on the market convert alternating current into direct current. And our DCDC power isolation module is used to convert DC into DC for fast charging, so it can protect personal safety and electrical safety.

Slow charging refers to AC charging, which is the charging interface of an AC charger. The AC power from the grid is input into the slow charging port of the electric vehicle, and the AC power is converted into DC power through the charger inside the vehicle, and then the battery is input to complete the charging. The charging process generally takes 6-8 hours. The main components include ACDC leakage sensor and relay IM-NE801 specially designed for slow charging. For this relay, you can refer to our previous articles. Regarding the leakage sensor, it can be set separately for AC and DC leakage. When the set current is reached, an alarm signal is generated, and the switch control signal is output at the same time. The leakage sensor has a digital output function, which can read the current value of DC and AC.

The current transformer and communication module are indispensable whether it is fast charging or slow charging. Generally speaking, the current transformer refers to the current sampling component. According to the principle of electromagnetics, the current passes through the center of the transformer, and a magnetic field is generated around the core of the transformer, thereby generating current in the coil with a certain number of turns. Connect the analog-to-digital converter and other chips to calculate the current value through the transformer. As for the communication module, it is a module that provides a connection between the product and the external environment of the product. There is also a communication isolation module, and its other main function is to play a role in communication isolation.

We believe that the development of new energy electric vehicles is unstoppable, and the development of new energy is of great significance to the sustainable development of the earth. We not only live in the present, but also look to the future, and are committed to making the role of the components of new energy electric vehicle chargers more important!
