New Energy EV Charger Relay

The charging pile can be fastened to the road or wall like a fuel gun at a gas station. It can be installed in commercial buildings (public houses, shopping malls, public parking lots, etc.) and underground parking lots or charging stations in residential areas. According to different rated voltages, electric vehicles of different specifications are charged. The input end of the charging pile is immediately connected to the communication AC power grid, and the output end is equipped with a charging power plug, which can charge the electric vehicle. Charging generally provides two charging methods: basic charging and fast charging.


New regulations for electronic equipment such as relays, wireless connectors, cables, etc. must be considered in the design of electric vehicle charging points. In particular, relays and AC contactors play an important role in design consistency and compliance. The relay works with other power components to complete the precise operation of the pre-charging process and the actual operation of the lossless power switch of various loads. The relay has high performance and high reliability functions, which can ensure the safe operation and service life of the internal system software of the charging station.


The relay is a control element, a circuit switch with protection performance, and the core element of the new energy charging pile. The relay is mainly a low-voltage remote control on-off switch of a high-voltage circuit (use a safe low-voltage 12V-72V to control an unsafe high-voltage 300V-1000V). Usually used in automatic control circuits, it is actually a kind of "automatic switch", which uses small current to control the action of large current, and forms a safety protection mechanism and conversion circuit with other components in the circuit, which has the advantages of fast action, small size, High arc extinguishing safety, high action reliability and long service life.


According to market demand, IVY has launched a small portable AC charging pile power relay-IM-NE801A.

IM-NE801A is a UL/TUV certified 32A 40A Two-pole PCB power relay for EV AC Charger. It's main features as follow:

Compared with other power relays on the market, the main advantages of lie in 3mm contact gap:

Its contact distance can be up to 3mm, and the contact spacing of the general relay is about 0.8mm or 1.5mm. In some ways this feature made contact between medium pressure can improve a lot, the higher the withstand voltage value, and also solve the problem of contact resistance increase rapidly, etc, under non-operation status it can avoid wrong operation or damage caused by external factors. which improves the tensile arc resistance of the contact and prolongs the service life of the relay.
