Product Overview

MD0630T01A is a high-sensitivity RCD leakage current sensor with the characteristics of accurate measurement, small size, and integration. The leakage sensor can be set separately for AC and DC leakage. An alarm signal is generated when the set current is reached. The leakage sensor has a digital output function, which can directly read the current value of DC and AC. The residual current detection sensor is used as a Type B RCD sensor dedicated to DC, AC, or pulsed leakage current measurement in automotive on-board chargers. 


IEC 62955 is an international standard for Residual Direct Current Detecting Devices (RDC-DD), specifically for Mode 3 AC electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment.

When installing Mode 3 charging stations, IEC 62955 provides two main compliance options:

Option A: Using an expensive Type B RCCB, eliminating the need for an additional RDC-DD.

Option B (the mainstream approach): Using an economical Type A RCD + RDC-DD. The RDC-DD is usually built into the charging station (e.g., as a sensor module) and is responsible for 6mA DC detection, while the Type A RCD provides AC and pulsating DC protection.

Integration trend: Modern charging station designs tend to use highly integrated all-current sensitive sensors (such as the MD0630 series) to reduce hardware costs and improve system response speed.
