What is a photovoltaic bidirectional(two-way or net metering) meter?
PV bidirectional meter is a special kind of electricity metering equipment, which can be simply understood as a "reverse" meter. The meter mainly records the amount of electricity obtained by the home or enterprise from the power grid (how much electricity is used), that is, the electricity flows from the power grid to the user's home or enterprise in one direction.
But the photovoltaic bidirectional meter is different. It can not only record how much electricity you use, but also record the amount of electricity you send back to the power grid. For example, when you install a photovoltaic power generation system in your home (such as solar panels on the roof), when the sun is sufficient during the day, the solar panels may generate more electricity than the electrical equipment in your home needs. At this time, this excess electricity can be fed back to the power grid through the two-way meter. When photovoltaic power generation is not enough, such as at night or on rainy days, the home will draw electricity from the power grid, and the two-way meter can also record this process.
Why do we need a two-way meter?
