Product Details

MD0630STA-C is an automotive grade leakage current sensor also called residual current monitoring (RCM), residual current detection (RCD). With the characteristics of high sensitivity, accurate measurement, small size, and integration. When a DC leakage current of 3~6mA or an AC leakage current of 15~30mA is detected, an alarm signal will be output. At the same time, it has a self-test function, which can be used to judge in real time whether the sensor is in a normal working state. If the sensor fails, the self-test output terminal will not be able to output a feedback signal. It can be used to configure the RDC-PD (Type A 30mA, passes IEC 61008-1/IEC60947-2 and DC 6 mA (according to IEC 62955) or RDC-MD (only DC 6 mA (according to IEC 62955)) and other components and parts in the EV charger to meet the protection requirements defined in the EV charger IEC 61851-1 and IEC 60364-7-722.


In this configuration, protection against lethal AC residual currents through the coordinated activity of sensors, charge controllers and relays/contactors is not as reliable as a track-mounted RCBO or RCCB with independent detection and tripping. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you install at least one Type A RCD upstream of your EV charger, even if your charger has nominal built-in Type A 30 mA protection. IVY's RCD/RCM module with Type B protection is equivalent to Type A 30mA+DC 6mA protection.
